Creekside Animal Hospital is a small, two doctor, privately owned hospital looking for a new veterinary technician/nurse to join our team. This is a full time position with a set schedule, working 4 days weekly for 10 hour shifts. No weekends or on call hours. We are a primarily small companion animal practice with the occasional rabbit exam. Responsibilities:

• Interacting with clients in person and on the phone
• Assisting doctors in appointments
• Collect and document patient history from clients
• Assist in diagnostic workups
• Place IV catheters, administer vaccines and/or medications
• Surgical induction, anesthetic monitoring, patient recovery
• Dental radiographs, dental charting, scaling and polishing teeth

Qualifications:

• Certification from a Veterinary Technician Program
• or 3 or more years of experience

Skills needed to succeed in this position include:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with a computer
• Strong work ethic and willingness to help
• Must be comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes as well as handling small mammals such as rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, and ferrets.

• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds'
