Can you see yourself in your current position for the rest of your career? Ready for a change? Here is your chance to experience an Alaskan lifestyle with potential for long term opportunities. This position is available for long term part time or just summer work if it would fit your situation better. I am also looking for someone to fill in for Jan.15-February 20 2024. This would be a great chance to experience an Alaskan winter and get a feel for the clinic. It is a much slower pace in the winter with minimal large animal work and clinic hours let you get out in the sun during our short days. Just step out the door for cross country skiing during the 12-3 break and step out at night to watch the northern lights. We have all the warm clothing you might need. Full time position starting spring 2024 in Fairbanks. $3000/week which includes full housing on upper floor of clinic ( about 2000 square feet). Large animal work involves a wide variety of ruminants and a substantial number of horses. Good basic equine skills are essential. Office hours are M-F 9-12 and 3-6. Noon to 3 slot is reserved for personal time. There are no regular week end hours. After hours emergencies and weekend demands are handled on a discretionary basis. I have one assistant who serves as vet tech/receptionist. The position would start in October/November 2023. There will be intermittent vacation time available to explore Alaska. A vehicle is available for use during off time if needed. I am looking to retire and this highly profitable practice is for sale. This job would be an excellent opportunity for someone to evaluate the practice. Ballaine Vet Clinic is currently a solo mixed animal practice, but with an area population of 100,000 it can support whatever business model is desired. The clinic can comfortably accommodate 2 vets if an associate is desired. There is a huge untapped small animal market as I have no internet presence and do no advertising. The practice could transition to entirely small animal in a short time. This is a complete turn key operation. The clinic is a 2 story building on 2 acres in residential setting close to the University of Alaska. The clinic is downstairs and living quarters are upstairs with the clinic having more area than the upstairs which makes for great tax advantages. You can literally step out the door tp 30+ miles of trails for cross country skiing, running and biking. A highly rated elementary school is within walking distance. The University of Alaska provides many cultural and academic venues that would normally not be found in a city of this size. Owner financing is available if needed and I can be very flexible in transition time. The best way to reach me is to call 907-479-3641. You can respond to the e-mail listed, but since I do not use it for clinic use a response may be delayed until I remember to check it.
