We are looking to add an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician to our AMH team. Anesthesia techs works closely with our veterinarians assisting with all surgical spays, neuters, mass removals and dental procedures daily. They provide nursing care to all anesthetic patients throughout surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery. Who we’re looking for:
As an Anesthesia Technician you will:
Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Handle emergency situations, remaining calm while showing empathy and compassion.
Communicate to clients any updates on patient status.
Assist in basic laboratory procedures (i.e., handling blood and urine specimens, using in-house lab analyzers, using the centrifuge, and staining ear and blood films)
Setting up, assisting in operating, and cleaning commonly used hospital equipment, oxygen cages, heating devices, and exam rooms.
Clean and prepare surgical instrument packs, set up equipment and supplies for surgical procedures, and disinfect surgery suites.
Monitor all pets under anesthesia.
Take radiographs as requested by the veterinarian. (i.e., Chest, Abdomen, Oral, Extremity)
Operate equipment pertinent to carrying out duties, including but not limited to laboratory equipment, anesthesia, dental, and radiology.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
RVT preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of veterinary technician experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Venipuncture
Intravenous catheter placement
Respond and quickly react to frequent auditory signals, warnings, or communication from other staff, animals, or medical equipment.
Knowledge and application of medical procedures, including but not limited to anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and radiology.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Have the ability to gain animal confidence when restraining them for transport, boarding, or treatment.
