PriorityVet - Pet Urgent Care is proud to have the ONLY INDEPENDENTLY OWNED, STAND-ALONE, UNAFFILIATED, MULTI-LOCATION, EXCLUSIVELY URGENT CARE PRACTICE CURRENTLY IN EXISTENCE IN THE NATION.
Have you considered ownership but thought is was out of reach?
We can provide owner financing
Did you think starting your own practice would be too complicated?
Our Toms River, NJ location is well established since 2017 and our Howell location is open as of January 2023 and is enjoying early growth. Plans for a location in the Metro-Philadelphia area are in the works pending identification of the right strategic working veterinarian partner.
Do you have no desire to be a manager?
This may be the opportunity for you! We established a management company to take overall management out of the hands of each practice and allow veterinarian-owners to focus on medicine. Shift Leads, along with Lead Tech, Lead CCR under the supervision of the Regional Operations Manager and the President and Chief Operation Officer (Cudia), tend to the day to day operations of each practice. Again, allowing the veterinarians to focus on medicine.
Perhaps you are a Medical Director, running a practice with no return on your management investment?
Now is the time to start investing a practice you own so you can reap the benefits of all your hard work.
Are you working for a corporate "Urgent Care" practice that is diverging from the true urgent care model and are you being asked to work outside your role as an urgent care veterinarian?
Come join a company that is staying true to its founding vision, practicing exclusively urgent care and giving its clinicians a voice in the daily operations of the practice.
Our Toms River location has been established since 2017. Over the past 5 years, we have streamlined, optimized and economized our system of delivery of world class outpatient urgent care in this rapidly growing niche. We have developed an approach for replicating our success in every newly established location. By providing no routine care, performing no major surgery and not hospitalizing patients, we diverge from traditional ERs and urgent care "departments" and have reduced wait times, lower bills and less stress by design.
What we do:
Only treat dogs and cats
Cater to pet owners presenting with cases that are not truly emergent
Pets are largely treated on an outpatient basis
Work-ups are always encouraged
Short-term admissions for diagnostics, stabilization, brief treatment and short anesthetic procedures (minor wounds/abscesses, unblocking)
Life-saving emergent interventions when necessary
Estimates are generated and presented by support staff prior to all care
We refer pets requiring major surgery or continued care to a 24-hour care facility 15-20 minutes away.
Pets are directed back to their family veterinarian for follow-up care
Follow-up calls are made the next day.
What we don't do:
Schedule appointments
Triage or give medical advice over the phone
Hospitalize overnight
Major surgery
Preventative care
Exotics, wildlife, rescues or strays
Euthanasia as a stand-alone, on-demand procedure.
How we do it:
Our hours (4PM-11PM daily, excluding 7 holidays) allow for the recruitment of well-qualified staff (not just those willing to work the overnights and holidays like in typical ER)
We are fully equipped - electric lift tables, in-house laboratory, digital radiography, Tonopen, ultrasound, EKG-defibrillator, blood pressure, pulse-oximetry and cloud-based practice software.
We incorporate FearFree techniques into our practice to foster less stressful visits for all involved.
We electronically forward reports and diagnostics to the rDVM the same day.
Associates are supported by a minimum of 5 staff members
Ready access to the owner for case collaboration when needed.
Who are we looking for:
An optimistic, gregarious, energetic, ambitious Veterinarian
Minimum of 3 years of general practice experience
Solid General Medicine skills a must
Emergency experience is not required but aptitude in triage and stabilization of critically ill or traumatized pets is desirable.
A willingness to foster and promote the values of PriorityVet: Respect • Compassion • Accountability • Professionalism • Fun • Excellence • Teamwork

PriorityVet - Pet Urgent Care Is proud to have the ONLY INDEPENDENTLY OWNED, STAND-ALONE, UNAFFILIATED, EXCLUSIVELY URGENT CARE PRACTICES CURRENTLY IN EXISTENCE IN THE NATION. We diverge from traditional ERs and urgent care "departments" currently available for after-hours care. We have reduced wait times, lower bills and less stress by design. Our pilot facility has been established in Toms River, NJ since 2017. Our second location opened in Howell, NJ in January of 2023. We are currently developing an opportunity in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area. We also welcome strategic partners interested in growing the true Urgent Care model across the nation.
We are NOT your typical veterinary emergency hospital! Our business hours are 4pm to 11pm daily (excluding major holidays), promoting a healthy work-life balance and allowing for the recruitment of well-qualified staff. We cater to the needs of pet owners presenting with the approximately 85% of evening cases that are not "true emergencies". Pets are treated on an out-patient basis with short-term admission for diagnostics and minor anesthetic procedures (lacerations, urethral obstruction, splinting, etc). Pets... requiring prolonged anesthesia, major emergency surgery, hospitalization or overnight care are referred to the closest 24-hour referral institution following any necessary emergent interventions. Pets are typically directed back to their family veterinarian for follow-up care. No routine care is provided. We incorporate Fear Free techniques into our practice to foster less stressful visits for all involved. We are fully equipped with electric lift tables in exam rooms and treatment area, in-house laboratory, digital radiography, Tonopen, ultrasound, EKG-defibrillator, blood pressure, pulse-oximetry and cloud-based practice software. Our clinicians need not compete with other departments for facility resources. Our compensation packages are tailored to the needs of employees. Come check as out! We'll pay you for your time with no strings attached!
