ProStaff Workforce Solutions is seeking an Emergency and Specialist Veterinarian to work with a private hospital in Westwood, NJ. Their brand new privately owned AAHA Accredited facility is under new management and consists of 32,000 square feet with brand-new cutting-edge equipment including but not limited to laser and laparoscopic surgery, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell medicine, dental suite with dental radiography, ultrasound, a newly constructed canine rehabilitation department including therapeutic laser, shockwave therapy, underwater treadmills, and hyperbaric chamber, and more. Duties and Responsibilities:
Assessing and examining patients, and diagnosing their medical issues.
Conducting laboratory tests on specimens to diagnose medical conditions.
Performing diagnostic imaging and ultrasound tests.
Performing surgery, dressing and treating wounds, and prescribing medication.
Promoting preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations, and by educating clients on positive diet and lifestyle choices for pets.
Improving patients’ dental health by performing checkups, and cleaning and extracting teeth.
Euthanizing patients.
Ensuring compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Maintaining patients’ medical records.
Required Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent licensed to practice in the USA

Must be willing to participate to handle large case load and multitask effectively in high stress environment.
Must be willing to participate to perform surgeries in a large surgical suite and handle emergency and critical care in house patients.
Must be able to communicate effectively in regards to medical record keeping, client communication and updates, and staff communication.
Must enforce and follow AAHA guidelines/standards.
Must be mindful of client perspective.
Strong affinity for animals.
Ability to make prudent decisions regarding the welfare and well-being of animals.
