FLSA Classification: ExemptReports to: Executive Director Summary:The Chief Veterinarian works in cooperation with Executive Director, Shelter Director, Veterinary Practice Manager, and Shelter Manager to monitor and improve the general health of the animals in the shelter; to help ensure that the transmission of disease is kept to a minimum; to diagnose and oversee the medical treatment of sick and injured animals; to oversee the administration of all vaccinations for both shelter and public wellness animals; and to perform spay/neuter surgeries, amputations, dental work, hernia repair and other surgical procedures on animals.
