Veterinary Specialty Services (VSS) is looking for a board certified or residency-trained criticalist to join our team. 

Our facilities are equipped with the most advanced technology. Our Manchester hospital has on site MRI, CT, ventilator, full in house bloodwork/blood gas, Idexx laboratory (on site), fluoroscopy, and physical therapy. Our O’Fallon hospital is also equipped with a ventilator and full in house bloodwork/blood gas. 

Our ECC team sees primary incoming emergencies, manages patients hospitalized in the ICU, and works closely with the other departments to assist in their incoming emergencies.  We are dedicated to excellent patient care and client service.  Our ICU is ‘open admission’ as patients are admitted into the ICU from all departments.  The entire hospital works closely on cases and has a team-oriented approach to patient care. 

VSS has a very low turnover rate among our veterinarians.  The ECC department was started in 2006 and became a 24 hour emergency facility in 2008.  Since that time we have grown exponentially.  We pride ourselves on team achievements and helping each other to provide the best care for the patient. 

We are looking for a team-oriented criticalist who thrives on practicing leading edge medicine in a high volume practice with a four day workweek so there is still time to enjoy life.  The position is primarily daytime with weekday and weekend shifts and shared on call time.  The evening and overnight shifts are covered by the ER DVMs.  We are looking to fill this role immediately and plan for the future - Residents are invited to apply.

Qualifications:

• DVM degree
• Residency training with board eligibility or certification in Emergency and Critical Care
• Ability to be licensed in the state of Missouri
