As a LVT with CVETS your primary responsibility is to support the hospital, and staff in the attainment of its mission. We are looking for individuals with strong patient care abilities and experience with patient triage. Critical care skills are highly valued!
Key Individual Responsibilities:
Be punctual and have strong dependability with attendance, work ethic and responsibility
Participate in continuing education programs with at least ten (10) credit hours in approved lectures/forums per year.
Obtain or maintain membership in a professional society.

Taking vital signs and obtaining patient medical history; Performing emergency first aid
Specimen collection and performing laboratory procedures.
Administration of medication under direction of veterinarian
Radiology/Imaging skills required including X-ray’s, MRI’s, and CT Scans
Patient preparation for surgical procedures, intake and discharge as required.
Proactively communicate patient status to on coming shift and frequently with doctors to facilitate the highest level of patient care.
Education: Completion of a LVT certification program (preferred)
Certifications: Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician, specialty certifications a plus
Experience: At least one year working as a veterinary technician; preferred experience in performing MRI/CT

About CVETS - Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty
CVETS, Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty, is a new Specialty/ER hospital looking to add to our team. The brand new 9000 square foot facility opened in May of 2018 and is growing rapidly. The facility includes a dedicated ICU, multiple operating rooms, a radiology suite, dedicated facilities for endoscopy, chemotherapy administration and special procedures, ultrasound, a 16 slice CT scan, on-site MRI and support by multiple additional specialists (24-hour emergency, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, surgery, dermatology and radiology). The hospital is located on the northeast side of Columbia, South Carolina - an area that is rapidly growing and was not previously serviced by specialty care. The hospital and its staff have been
designed with a culture aimed at exceptional client services and personal job fulfillment.
