About Veterinary Clinical Sciences
AREA OVERVIEW: The mission of VCS is to serve the community through education and through generation and dissemination of new information, for the benefit of animal and human health and well-being. The WSU College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/, is organized into five departments, including VCS, Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology (VMP), Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN), the School of Molecular Biosciences (SMB), and the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health each dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and service. The CVM and VCS faculty have research strengths in infectious diseases, neuroscience, and pharmacogenomics. These areas provide diverse research opportunities for the applicant.
Washington State University is a PAC-12 school and a land-grant institution with an enrollment of approximately 21,000 students on its Pullman campus and another 10,000 students statewide. The University of Idaho, also a land-grant university, is located in Moscow, Idaho, 8 miles from the Pullman campus.
