All Creatures Pet Hospital (ACPH) located in Gardendale, AL, just north of Birmingham, AL, is seeking a full or part time associate. ACPH is a well-established and growing practice with over 45 years of history. The hospital's veterinary style is marked by thorough processes and preventative care.

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and energetic professional who enjoys client communication and is focused on client and patient care. Optional opportunities include management experience, partnership and/or future buy-in for the right fit. 

Full-time benefits include Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance, paid license, paid CE, paid vacation, and retirement account. Salary is competitive and based on experience and abilities. There is high potential for increased pay with commission. Associate will enjoy no after-hours or weekend on call duty.  

About the clinic: 
All Creatures Pet Hospital is a busy small and exotic (light) animal hospital in beautiful Gardendale, AL off Highway 31. We serve the Birmingham metro area, especially the areas north of the city where commuter growth is rapidly expanding. Delivering our clients and patients excellent service and care is essential to our clinic. While ACPH is family-run and has a small-town feel, we pride ourselves in offering state of the art veterinary care marked by southern hospitality. Clinic features include a full lab with IDEXX SediView DX, Digital Radiography (Flat Panel Cuattro DR), Ultrasound, and Companion Therapy Laser.

Veterinarian Requirements and Qualifications

  • Treat and prevent an array of animal diseases and illnesses

  • Conduct tests and observations to provide a proper diagnosis

  • Prescribe necessary medications

  • Administer vaccines to prevent common diseases

  • Perform operations and provide therapy or other treatments

  • Perform spay and neuter surgeries

  • Communicate with animal owners to answer questions and educate them on situations and treatment plans

  • Collaborate with veterinary assistants and other staff to provide top-notch care to customers

  • Passion for animals and an active interest in their health and well being

  • Knowledge of all veterinary best practices, and a desire to advance the field

  • Excellent verbal communication skills to build rapport and adequately communicate with patients and staff

  • Problem-solving capabilities with a willingness to tackle unique challenges

  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to empathize with families

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize, and thrive in an oftentimes fast-paced and high-pressure environment

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree

  • Possession of a veterinary license and willingness to continually meet licensing requirements

  • One or more years of veterinary experience in a clinic or animal hospital environment preferred BUT NEW GRADUATES ARE WELCOME!
