The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, located in Ames, Iowa, is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, clinical-track faculty position to support the clinical imaging services primarily in ultrasonography and to contribute to the education of professional veterinary students in this modality. The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank.
The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to support the clinical evaluation of patients in the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC) and to help teach students in veterinary ultrasound and diagnostic imaging. This position will work in collaboration with diagnostic imaging and clinical care teams to provide high quality patient care services and clinical educational experiences for professional students. Clinical and educational duties will include occasional weekend and after-hours obligations. The focus of this position will be providing clinical and educational activities through client services in the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC), specifically providing ultrasonographic diagnostic imaging, ultrasound-guided aspirates, and clinical education related to ultrasonography. The percentage effort associated with these combined activities will be determined by mutual agreement between the candidate and the Department Chair of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
-DVM or equivalent degree.
-A minimum of 3 years clinical ultrasonographic proficiency in an academic diagnostic imaging environment
-Advanced certification in diagnostic ultrasound
- State of Iowa Veterinary License on or before the first day of employment.
- An advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent degree)
-Demonstrated interest and experience in teaching or clinical instruction
-Additional years of clinical experience
