Veterinary Neurology and Imaging of the Chesapeake is seeking a full time Veterinary Imaging Technologist at our Annapolis, MD location to operate our MRI and CT equipment. We are a specialty neurology and imaging practice located within Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, a hospital that offers multiple services including cardiology, surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology and emergency services, giving us exposure to many areas of veterinary medicine.

We provide a variety of services, including advanced imaging CT and MRI, cerebrospinal fluid collection and analysis, small animal neurological evaluations, spinal surgeries, brain surgeries, seizure disorder work up, rehabilitation, BAER testing and diagnosis of other neurological diseases.

The Imaging team is responsible for maintaining the caseload of MRIs and CTs that are requested on a daily basis by other speciality services or neurology itself. This team is in direct support of our three neurologists on staff, as well as veterinarians from other specialties who may request imaging for their patients. As such, the Technologist must possess strong and clear communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently and troubleshoot problems on the fly.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of advanced diagnostic imaging experience. While much of the role is defined by operating the equipment, packaging the studies and interacting with veterinarians and radiologists, there is significant interaction with animal patients and some lifting may be required.

Imaging Technologist duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operating and maintaining a Philips 1.5T Intera MRI system and a Toshiba Aquillon 16 slice CT

• Performing imaging studies on a variety of different animals, including exotic species.

• Understanding of the basic anatomy of the canine and feline species.

• Communications with different veterinarians and veterinary radiologists throughout the day in regards to their imaging needs.

• Knowledgeable in the use of Windows 10, familiarity with PACS systems and ability to learn ours.

• Coordinating equipment maintenance with various service providers, including on an emergency and as-needed basis when problems arise.

• Troubleshooting technical difficulties with PACs server, sending images to remote radiologists, etc. and coordinating with IT providers to correct any issues.
