Full-service equine hospital in Norco, CA is seeking up to 2 veterinary interns. Candidates must be able to legally work into the United States (Visa Sponsorship is not available) and must already hold or be eligible for a California Veterinary Medical License. Intern veterinarians will work under the supervision of 1 ACVS surgeon, 1 residency-trained surgeon, and 1 general equine veterinarian with increasing independence as their confidence increases. The majority of cases seen will be in hospital but there is an opportunity for some ambulatory practice, including emergency call. Interns will be involved in caring for hospitalized patients for both emergency and elective surgical cases and medical cases; emergency call for surgery, field emergency, general anesthesia, as well as overnight in-hospital treatments, will be expected. Our practice forms part of the practical training community for the veterinary program at Western University of Health Sciences and, as such, interns will benefit from journal club and topic rounds on a weekly basis, as well as being responsible, in part, for training veterinary students. Interns will be expected to live within 15 minutes of the practice; housing is available on site, as needed. Start date is negotiable but June 2019 is preferred.
