Tigard Animal Hospital in Tigard, OR is seeking an Associate DVM to join our practice.
Our growing team of experienced veterinarians and skilled vet support staff are working closely with new and enthusiastic leadership to provide the best high-quality care for our patients. We have worked diligently to create an inclusive environment for both dogs and cats; offering separate waiting areas, treatment and exam rooms, and boarding facilities for both species. We are also FEAR FREE trained and Cat Friendly certified. Our major focus at Tigard Animal Hospital is preventative care and overall wellness, with complete dental care making up a large part of our services provided. We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team,who will embody our spirit of compassionate preventative care, progressive medicine, and community dedication.
Updated building with four exam rooms, large treatment area, surgery suite, lab, x-ray etc.
Full in-house laboratory with most blood chemistries ran in house using Idexx Procyte and Catalyst. Urinalysis, Snap Tests and some cytologies are also done almost exclusively in-house. We work closely with outside laboratories to offer all specialty blood tests, pathologies and interpretations not able to be done in-house.
Mobile, in house ultrasound with board certified radiologists available for client convenience.
Brand new ultra-sonic dental equipment with fiber optics, dental x-ray machine, Bed Jet warming systems, and complete anesthesia monitoring equipment (including end-tidal CO2 monitoring).
Daily dental services.
Complete in-hospital pharmacy with large inventory of established commonly prescribed medications. We utilize local compounding pharmacies as well as offer access to our online pharmacy for client convenience.
Access to all brands of food, complete inventory of Royal Canin veterinary diets.
Paper-light clinic using Avimark as our operating system.
Limited grooming services including baths, lion cuts and sanitary trims with a trained groomer on premises.
Separate feline waiting room, exam room, treatment area, and boarding facilities.
Access to several specialists in the area including emergency care.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with a Managing Doctor and supporting medical staff. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.
Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
