We are confidentially searching for an experienced Hospital Manager for a 24hr Emergency/Specialty Hospital on Long Island. A strong candidate should have extensive experience (3+ years) managing 24/hr staffing & schedules, as well as general Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital operations and culture development. Experience needed in personnel management of at least 50 employees, HR, benefits administration, payroll management; cost of goods and inventory management.
Must have strengths in leadership (with both doctors and support staff), effective communication, problem solving, multi-tasking, coaching employees, recognizing growth opportunities. Manage direct reports as well the staff and doctors within all specialty service and emergency critical care departments
Customer service focus to ensure optimal client experience
Proven experience in achieving and maintaining revenue, payroll and purchasing budgets
Responsible for all local accounting functions to ensure that all financial information is accurate and maintained
Responsible for orientation and training of new employees
Continuous coaching and performance evaluation of direct reports, constructively delivering feedback, resolving routine personnel issues and conducting annual performance appraisals
Manage schedules for all departments to ensure optimal workflow efficiency and patient care within the hospital’s operating budget
Develop and nurture relationships within the Veterinary community to ensure optimum care and service through referral visits and hosting continuing education events for the referring vet community
Minimum of 3 years of proven successful experience as a Specialty Hospital Administrator is required to be considered for this position.
CVPM, MBA or a Degree in Hospital Administration is preferred.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
